The Storehouse

The Storehouse project was set up as a means of helping people in the Church who may be experiencing hardship, or who know of someone who is in need. The idea is that as many people as possible regularly buy an extra food item (non-perishable), with their shopping and bring it to Church. These are then made up into bags of groceries and given to those in need.

The Project has expanded rapidly and in addition to helping members of our own congregation, we are now regularly supplying not only food, but also clothing and furniture to homeless and vulnerable people, as well as refugees and asylum seekers in the Wigan area. This is done through a variety of Local Authority agencies and volunteer groups, who have approached us for help.
